The Field Hat is made with lightweight, quick-drying nylon to maximize comfort and bring its weight down to approximately 2.3 ounces. The extensive mesh sidings help keep heat from being trapped.  The short brim blocks the sun or the wind without overly obscuring upward vision. As opposed to Velcro, the metal buckle is long-lasting and makes it easy to adjust for a tight fit in high wind or other challenging highly mobile scenarios.
